CYBERGEN AT SEKOLAH RENDAH TAMAN RIA, KEDAH

Cyber GEN 2010 had finally reached the final stage where this event was conducted at Sekolah Rendah Taman Ria (SKTR) , Sungai Petani, Kedah. Even though it was a long journey for us, but still the committees of Cyber GEN 2010 were very grateful as this event accomplished with a huge success. For this time, Cyber GEN 2010 was officiated by Mr. Romlan Ahmad (Pegawai Khas Sains Matematik ) which is a representative from Pejabat Pentadbiran Daerah. On behalf of the committees, we would like to thank the headmistress Madam Eshah Awg Talib as she agreed to let us conduct the event in SKTR and also provide us with accommodations.

About 30 students of SKTR participated for Cyber GEN 2010. The modules started with ice breaking within the students and also the facilitators. Then, all the students learned how to use the movie maker software with the guidance of facilitators. After having lunch break, the students proceeded with the next module which was the power point. Each group has to send their project of each of the module to be judged by the facilitators. Groups which have a good project will be awarded.

There were games conducted so that the students were not bored. They played Dunga, Boom and others. Therefore, Cyber GEN 2010 had officially ended. Committees of Cyber GEN 2010 really hope that all the students gain some knowledge regarding on the modules conducted. See you in the next Cyber GEN guys!!

CYBERGEN AT SEKOLAH RENDAH KEBANGSAAN SRI ISKANDAR

The first part of CyberGen was held at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sri Iskandar (SKSI) on  25th of September 2010. It was a huge success for all of the committees since the students enjoyed the modules so much and even the Headmaster were expecting us to come and exposed the basic technologies being used nowadays to the students as the first step for the students to move to the next level of their journey as a student.


The ceremony started with the speech from the headmaster of SKSI and also the project manager of CyberGen, Abdul Wafiy Abdul Karim. About 33 students participated in this event. There were also gimmick for the officiating session and a montage on introducing what is CyberGen. Then the event proceeded with the first module which is the movie maker. The students learned how to use the functions available in the movie maker software. 


In the afternoon, after the students had their lunch the modules started and this time was the power point modules. During the module, the students looked excited and eager to learn more since they had become close to the committees. The committees taught them step by step so that the students could catch up and understand the module. 


About 4.30 pm in the evening the event was nearly to the end. The closing ceremony was held in the Smart class. There were prize giving ceremony, a montage was played with the pictures of the students were taken while the event was running, and also the closing speech by the representatives from SKSI. Then, it was the time to say Goodbye to the students. May all of them got some valuable knowledge from this event. Thank you to CyberGen advisor, Mr. Khairul Badrisham Bin Ramly, CyberGen committees, UTP Medtech Club and crews, SKSI and to those who helped in realizing this event to be a huge success event.

Home Tutorial 2

On 18th of September, the CyberGen committees went to Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sri Iskandar (SKSI) which was also the previous home tutorial was held. The same activity were held and it all started in the morning around 8.30 am. Since the big examination was just around the corner, the SKSI students were giving their fullest concentration during the tutorial. They totally made used of the help that the committees were offering to help them in their studies. There were mathematics subject as well as science and Bahasa Inggeris. The were also some games so that the students would not get bored and stay active. The tutorial ended at 1.00 pm at the students went back home with a big smile on their faces.

HOME TUTORIAL

For a start, on 21st August 2010 which was last Saturday, CYBER GEN 2010 committees went to Sekolah Rendah Sri Iskandar (SKSI), Sri Iskandar, Perak for a home tutorial. Only 58 Standard 6 students of SKSI were selected to participate in this tutorial. The objective of this tutorial is to help the students to get better understanding of the subject that they had selected since they are going to sit for the Ujian Pendidikan Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) this upcoming September. In addition, the committees also would like to strengthen the bond between Universiti Tekonologi Petronas( UTP) students with the surrounding community. There were 3 subjects offered for the students. There were Mathematics, English and Science. The program started at 8.45 a.m and ended around 11.00 a.m. It was held in a class room called Smart class and also a few other classes. There were two parts of the of the tutorial which there were 20 minutes break between the parts so that the students can refresh and loose their body after one hour of doing exercises. So here are some pictures taken during the tutorial. We had so much fun and hope we can be there next time for another slot of home tutorial before the students sit for the UPSR.

What is CYBERGEN?

 INTRODUCTION

Kelab Media dan Teknologi UTP or well-known as UTP Media and Technology Club (UTP MEDTECH Club) is going to organize an event, called Cyber Gen on 25^th  September 2010 and 10^th October 2010. This is the second batch of a brand new event, replacing Cyber Kids which is basically have the same target but at the same time has been enhanced to make sure that more people will get the benefit from this event.  The main objective of this event is about charity. Unlike the previous Cyber Kids which was only done for one school at a time, this time the target is to do our charity work to two selected schools. This event aims to give exposure to the targeted participants about the essential elements of media and technology.

 OBJECTIVES

1. As a charity-business work

     - As a charity-based work for schools and students

     - As a side business for the club in sharing the knowledge of web development 
        to teachers

2. To give exposure about important elements of media to the targeted participats

3. To enhance relationship between UTP students and the outside community

4. To strengthen the bond and at the same time improve the integrity between 
    MEDTECH committee and MEDTECH members

5. To share experience and knowledge about media with outside community

6. To expose committee members to event management skills in organizing 
    various activities
